On July 1, 2009, the French government has decided to lower VAT on food by 19.6% to 5.5%. The government hopes that this step (the only restaurant of the largest industries in the country) would help, it’s pretty hard hit during the economic recession. The cuts will hopefully encourage you to eat more and therefore the state of the economy. Reduction of Finance Minister Christine Lagarde: “If a restaurant, the prices they can invest.
